No Place Like Home

”Home” 🎨 by Dan Victor • When I lived in San Diego, I tried to make it my home. Traveling to get home was always tough too. Even though I’m sitting, it takes a lot out of me to move distances. Not sure if our bodies need to adjust to being in a different place.

I gave this one to my grandparents when they were still alive. Because I never felt more at home than when I was with them, at their house. I spent many summers and weekends there. When I lifeguarded, it was the pool by their house. I could walk there in 10 minutes.

The poem –>

RIGHT AWAY THERE IS A SEVERE AMD INTENSE…
YES, THAT

Done with charcoal, ink and watercolor on paper. When they passed away, my parents sold their house. It was given back to me. It sat in their place for a long time, so maybe it soaked up some of their essence. I like to think so.

What were your grandparents like?
