Nude Self Portrait In Charcoal

“Duality” Self Portrait ✍🏼 by Dan Victor • Charcoal drawing of myself I did in college. I was 19. I was going to Kutztown University for Graphic Design, but I identified more as one of the Fine Arts kids. All my free electives went to studio classes.

I had to do a self-portrait for Life Drawing. I had a friend take nude photos of me and used them to create this image. We took them in his basement and it was a little awkward, as I tried not to exposed myself fully.

There are 2 figures. Both were derived from my poses. The foreground was fairly true to form. The figure in the background is also me, but I made it more female, just changing it slightly.

The intent is to show that we all have masculine and feminine qualities, and to what degree. Do you Agree or Disagree?
